The University of Manchester

The University of Manchester is one of the UK's oldest and most prestigious civic universities, right at the heart of Manchester, which has a reputation for being one of Britain's most exciting student cities.

The University is situated just south of the centre of Manchester on one compact campus.

Here are some of our best features:

As a traditional university with modern teaching facilities combining all the benefits of a campus environment with the convenience of being in a large city.

Over 34,000 students from all 'walks of life' and more than 6000 academic staff, with a huge variety of academic programmes ranging from short courses to full-time degree programmes.

An acknowledged reputation for high standards in teaching and research, generating over 20 Nobel prize winners throughout the University's history.

A guaranteed place for all first-year students in one of our wide range of university halls of residence.

First class student services such as: the third largest library in the country, extensive sports facilities, and a vibrant Students' Union.

If you are looking for a university with tradition and character, that can offer a large variety of academic courses combined with an excellent reputation and modern teaching facilities, then the University of Manchester is for you.
