Currently doing no work or study

If you have had a break from work or study you will need to show that you are ready for the challenges of university. Perhaps you can talk about the fact that you have been reading books related to the subject you want to study? You could talk about some of the skills that are required to care for a family; meeting deadlines, managing a budget, perhaps your involvement in your children's education has highlighted a desire that you want to return to study. Whatever reason you have for returning to study - for career, for interest, for catching up on missed opportunities - universities are now more willing to welcome mature students so be bold in your statement by being enthusiastic.
