Doing A Levels

Jot down some notes about your school or college experiences. Maybe they haven't always been good. Think about the way your current study has prepared you for university. If you have failed any courses, are you more determined now? Going to university is about taking advantage of all the opportunities university can offer, not just academic life.

Maybe you weren't captain of the football team, or in the choir or head prefect… but …

did you do any voluntary work or fund raising at school or college?

Were you a member of a sports team ? (demonstrates co-operation and self-discipline).

Were you on school council or a forum representative ? (shows trust, responsibility and being organised).

Have you been involved in out of school activities, in your local community, with friends, family or through other organisations?

Perhaps you love going to the cinema, have your own band or doing an unusual activity that many people think is completely off the wall but which simply helps you relax. This can be a very valuable, as students need to be able to relax.

If you have chosen to apply for vocational courses have you had a period of work experience or arranged visits to see someone from the profession at work ? (If so what did you get out of it ?)
