Who goes to university?

University is for everyone.

University students are adults of all ages above 18.

University students come from all kinds of social and cultural backgrounds.

All sorts of different people go to university because people of all ages update their skills, retrain for a new career or just study for interest.

If you can meet the entry requirements for what you want to study, you will be welcome.

You do not always need to have formal qualifications (such as A levels) before you start. What you do need is a willingness to take on the challenge of higher-level learning.

Nor do you need to be a school-leaver of 18 to go into Higher Education - a high percentage of students in United Kingdom universities are over the age of 21.
