Is there other money available to help me?

In this folder there are examples of some of the additional sources of funding that are available.

Your Local Authority (previously Local Education Authority) or the universities you apply to will be able to give you additional information about financial support.

You should start to apply for financial support as soon as possible so that you can be given the appropriate funding when you start your course. In most cases you will be required to complete a student support application form and return it with supporting documents to the agency you got the form from. They will then assess how much money you would be entitled to.

Students living in England and Wales should apply for financial support through their Local Authority.

Students living in Scotland should apply through the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).

Students living in Northern Ireland should apply through their local Education and Library Board (ELB).
