Practical issues

Have plenty of passport sized photos of yourself - for union cards, library cards etc.

Make sure you know where you are supposed to be and when to register for the courses you want to take.

Make sure you have got all the timetables and course handbooks that you will need to be organised for the rest of the term or semester.

If you feel that you will need to supplement your finances while you are a student - find out what jobs are available locally.

Begin to get to know how to get to all the places you will need - libraries, lecture rooms, bus stops, launderette etc.
